Senior Business Analyst

Hybrid
  • Athens, Attikí, Greece
Data & Analytics

Job description

Satori is an Analytics Agency made with one simple vision: to give clarity in decision making through data analytics.

Whether it’s a cloud-based big data ecosystem for a global fintech or a machine learning model predicting churn for a leading airline group, Satori develops cutting edge analytics solutions, providing real value to its clients. Services cover the whole data lifecycle from ingestion and warehousing to ML and AI applications.

Satori is a scale-up, well on track to become the leading data and analytics company in South-Eastern Europe and already a 95+ specialized tech team, consisting of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, QAs, and CRM Specialists, delivering innovative data, tech, and customer experience solutions. The majority of our clients are household names and global brands in FMCG, retail, ecommerce, financial services, and travel, with a footprint in Greece but also across Europe and beyond.

We are currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst to help us leverage Data & AI to drive transformation projects for our clients.

What’s the role about?

In short, you are the link between business stakeholders and our technical teams. You make sure that our projects are properly designed and smoothly executed by understanding client priorities and business imperatives and translating this into actionable items, user stories and technical requirements. At the same time, we have your back. You will find that your input will be highly valued and acted upon. We succeed or fail together.

On any particular day you will be doing several of the following:

  • Liaise with the Business Stakeholders to understand the business context and needs of clients.
  • Work alongside business stakeholders and our teams to define clear client requirements and KPIs.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories and/or specs that the tech team can deliver.
  • Contribute to the design of Business Intelligence reports.
  • Map current data architecture, processes, sources, and flows.
  • Iterate with the client to optimize design and quality of deliverables.
  • Identify pain points and mismatches between client requirements and Satori user stories, technical requirements and deliverables.
  • Liaise with the client and help them understand the business aspects of technical decisions and actions.
  • Update business dictionaries.
  • Create and update end user training documentation (user manuals).
  • Train and mentor other Satorians in the basic tasks and notions of BA work.

Job requirements

What do you need to be successful in this role?

Strategic and business acumen: You have to be able to develop a good understanding of our client’s organization, its strategy, and the market. You are able to do this efficiently no matter what industry the client belongs to.

Technology and Data literacy: You don’t have to be proficient in Python or SQL and be able to recite all major cloud architecture trends (we would love it if you did), but you love technology and have exposure to the Data & Analytics industry in order to be able to act as a mediator between business stakeholders and tech resources.

Consulting mindset: You make it your business to know your clients’ needs, spoken and unspoken, often before they do themselves. You proactively scout for unmet needs and you are always on the look for opportunities to delight, above and beyond the project specifications.

Client-first attitude: You understand that perception and emotion are a critical part of the value delivered to the client, too. You’re honest (no smoke screens) but you cater to emotional needs as well as functional ones. You build trust and confidence in Satori. You are not afraid to communicate your opinion because you have gained their trust. You empathise with their situation, especially when the project is under pressure, and translate that understanding to the team.

Positive attitude: You care not only about your job but for the team and the organization. You proactively communicate because you understand that communication is key to effective collaboration. You enjoy a diverse working environment. Everyone wants to work with you and you first and foremost understand temporary hardship as an opportunity to grow.

Job requirements

To be considered for the role we ask that you have:

  • 4+ years experience in the technology sector and preferably in consulting in a similar role or potentially as a digital solutions executive or a junior project management or a product owner, if they were related to technological projects or products.
  • Advanced degree (master's or equivalent), preferably in fields such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business administration, etc.
  • Fluency in English and Greek. The ability to write and present to a high standard.

A successful candidate will probably bring some or all of the following non obligatory but nice to have-attributes to the table:

  • Exposure in Data Governance frameworks and procedures.
  • Experience in the Insurance industry is a huge plus.
  • Hands on experience on Databases, Data Warehousing, Data Analytics, and the Cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or BI tools (Power BI/ Tableau).
  • Practical knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban/Lean) and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Previous hands-on experience implementing tech/data/analytics projects for clients.

Benefits

Our most important perk is offering you an energy-laden workplace, in a fast-growing company, serving big-brand clients, with some of the market’s top talent, and an opportunity to see your work affecting big real-life business decisions.
